She almost got away with it. That's what actress Kate Hudson, 22, is claiming in court. The "Almost Famous" star sued her former personal assistant Wednesday, claiming that the woman secretly spent $63,000 of Hudson's money on herself, reports Reuters. Hudson, the daughter of actress Goldie Hawn and musician Bill Hudson, filed the suit in Los Angeles Superior Court and seeks restitution and damages from Margaret Miller, her ex-assistant. Hudson's claim states that "during her period of employment Miller utilized her position of control and access to plaintiff's charge and bank accounts to misappropriate, convert and divert in excess of $63,000 to Miller's personal use . . . without plaintiff's knowledge, authorization or consent." Hudson claims that Miller spent the $63,000 on clothes, limousines, plane tickets and beauty treatments -- charges ranging from $13.95 for a car wash to $4,347.50 for a first-class airline ticket upgrade -- often when Hudson was out of town. Miller worked for Hudson from July 1999 to March of this year and couldn't be reached for comment. Hudson was most recently nominated for an Academy Award for her performance in "Almost Famous."
