Electra Engaged, Bassist in Hospital
ENGAGED: Jane's Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro popped the question to girlfriend Carmen Electra on Tuesday, and the model/actress, who was formerly married to bad boy Dennis Rodman, said "I do," reports Launch.com. A spokesperson for Navarro said the wedding won't be until next year, because Electra is busy with her show in Las Vegas, and Navarro will be on the road with Jane's Addiction after a solo tour. FOUND: Weezer has found its bass player Mikey Welsh, abcnews.com reports. Welsh was scheduled to join the group in Los Angeles Tuesday for a video shoot for their new single "Island in the Sun" with director Spike Jonze, but he never arrived. After several days with little information the group has now learned Welsh checked into a psychiatric hospital. "We unfortunately still don't know what's wrong with him, and continue to find it very difficult to find out any more from those who might know," said a message posted today on the group's Web site. "We wish him the very best and we hope he comes back soon." Weezer is expected to begin touring Sept. 11 in San Jose, Calif. and is considering using a replacement player if necessary . . . Don Kelly said, as well as unrelated counts of aggravated burglary and aggravated assault with a firearm in a June incident . . . BORN: Plus-size Model Emme gave birth to a baby girl, Toby Cole Aronson, at a Manhattan hospital on Aug. 9, reports PEOPLE. CANCELLED: Janet Jackson is playing hard to get. For the fourth time since her "All for You" tour kicked off in July, the 35-year-old singer has postponed a show, reports the Associated Press. But this time, it has nothing to do with illness. Jackson was scheduled to begin a three-date performance at Madison Square Garden on Aug. 21, but the WNBA's New York Liberty have a playoff game that day. So Jackson's Tuesday concert has been pushed up to Monday; the other two concerts will remain on Wednesday and Thursday.
