Letterman should stop putting down his network. It's making quite a showing in the Nielsen ratings, though NBC leads the race in the 18-49 age group.

Despite Dave Letterman's jokes about his network, CBS was the most-watched network during the week ending July 22, while NBC, once again propelled by its Monday reality lineup, extended its winning streak among adults 18-49 to 14 weeks, the fifth-longest in Nielsen history, notes the Hollywood Reporter. CBS averaged 8.4 million viewers for the week, according to Nielsen Media Research. Meanwhile, ABC (7.4 million) and NBC (7.3 million) were closely tied for second place, followed by Fox (5 million), UPN (2.8 million) and the WB Network (2.3 million). For the second week in a row, NBC's Monday schedule, which includes "Fear Factor," "Weakest Link" and "Dateline" (11.1 million viewers), ranked as No. 1 on any night and any network in total viewers and 18-49.
