Kidman and Cruise: Together, Briefly
Hollywood presented its own new version of "The Odd Couple" Tuesday night. Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, whose divorce after 10 years of marriage becomes official on Wednesday, spent Tuesday night in the same Los Angeles theater, attending the premiere of the supernatural horror movie "The Others," starring Kidman, 34, and executive-produced by Cruise, 39. But, according to reports, their paths were well choreographed and purposely did not cross. "I feel how I feel," Kidman, who arrived with two female friends, told reporters about the situation. "I am glad he is here to support the movie." Cruise, who arrived alone, was asked how he deals with personal publicity. "Tell 'em to mind their own business," he replied with a laugh. "There are certain things I just don't pay attention to. You just have to go on with your life." Although he did not stay to see the film, Cruise said that there was nothing unusual about his and Kidman's attending the premiere. "We're here, we love what we do, we love films . . . We feel privileged to be doing something that we enjoy doing," he said. "Tonight is a celebration of a picture that we all worked very hard on, and the performance that Nic has given is flawless."
