Actor Olmos Arrested, Rodman Settles
SENTENCED: "Miami Vice" actor Edward James Olmos, 54, was sentenced in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Friday to 20 days in federal prison for trespassing on U.S. Navy land on the island of Vieques during protests against Navy war games. Other who have served for the same crime include environmental attorney Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and New York civil rights activist Rev. Al Sharpton . . . SETTLED: Rebecca Mardis of Laurel County, Ky., has settled a $1 million lawsuit alleging that basketball bad boy Dennis Rodman attacked her when she tried to take his picture in the lobby of a Las Vegas Strip hotel-casino in January of 1999, reports the Associated Press. Terms of the settlement were not disclosed . . . BORN: "My Wife and Kids" TV actress Tisha Campbell-Martin and her husband since 1996, actor Duane Martin ("On Any Sunday"), welcomed a son, Xen Martin, 8 pounds, 11 ounces, Wednesday, said her manager. Also, Oak Ridge Boy William Lee Golden and wife, Brenda, have a new baby boy, Solomon Golden, just over 6 pounds, born Friday in Nashville. "He looks wise already," Golden (who has three sons from a previous marriage) said . . . REVOKED: Country singer Terri Clark ("A Little Gasoline"), 33, lost her license to drive for a year and got six months probation after pleading guilty to reckless driving. The probation was part of a plea bargain to reduce the charge from drunken driving. Her license was suspended because she refused to take a blood-alcohol test, reports the Associated Press . . . BANKRUPT: The Band founding member Garth Hudson, 64, filed for bankruptcy for a third time and faces foreclosure on his Hudson Valley, N.Y., home, reports the local paper, the Daily Freeman. The keyboard and horn player, is to perform in Woodstock on Aug. 24 to celebrate his first solo album, "The Sea to the North." Foreclosure on his house and 30 acres is scheduled Aug. 21 . . . OFFERED: Cher, 55, has placed her 14,000-square-foot, seven-bedroom Malibu home (with a pool that appears to spill into the Pacific) on the market for $25 million, reports the L.A. Times. She reportedly wants to scale down and move to smaller quarters.
