'American Pie' Actress' DUI Arrest
"American Pie" actress Natasha Lyonne, 22, was arrested by Miami Beach police at about 1:45 a.m. Tuesday on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after her rented Dodge ran off the road and into a traffic sign, authorities told Reuters. No one was injured. The actress, who appears as the character Jessica in both the 1999 original and the current sequel to the gross-out teen comedy, was also charged with careless driving and leaving the scene of an accident. She was released on Tuesday after posting $2,000 bond. According to the police report, Lyonne took a corner too fast when vehicle skidded off the road and smacked into the sign and some bushes. She then backed up and drove off, said the report. The officer said that when he stopped her and smelled alcohol on her breath, Lyonne told him: "I'm a movie star. Can I talk to my entertainment lawyer?" According to the arrest report, her passenger, Adam Goldberg, told the officer: "I tried to stop her. I just didn't know how. I didn't know whether to grab the emergency brake or what." Police said Lyonne, who lives in New York, later told them she had been drinking in a bar.
