A day after they filed a breach-of-contract lawsuit against the studio, the five co-stars of the CBS sitcom "Becker" -- Terry Farrell, Hattie Winston, Alex Desert, Shawnee Smith and Saverio Guerra -- did not show up for work as scheduled on Wednesday, says the Hollywood Reporter. In their suit against Paramount, the actors claimed "the studio repeatedly reneged in bad faith" on a written agreement from Aug. 4, 2000, in which Paramount agreed to negotiate with the actors for pay boosts effective at the beginning of the show's upcoming fourth season. The studio and the quintet's attorney, Stanton Stein, declined comment on the standoff, but the trade paper reports that the actors have received no indication whether or not the studio intends to take legal action regarding the walkout, which is expected to continue. On Wednesday, Paramount confirmed that Farrell, Desert, Smith and Guerra did not attend the table read for the fourth episode of the CBS series' fourth season, while Winston had Wednesday off. All five actors are scheduled to rehearse Thursday for the sitcom, which stars Ted Danson as an overly fussy doctor in New York.
