Alanis Morissette Goes Back to School
The high school students of the Vermont hamlet of Plainfield got a special treat Thursday morning: Alanis Morissette. The "Jagged Little Pill" Grammy winner, 27, stopped by the Plainfield Town Hall for a special concert that was her way of thanking Elyse Bellamy, 15, the national winner of a contest to design a music video for the Canadian-born rock star. Reportedly, Morissette's arrival and the news of her win came as a surprise to Bellamy. According to the Associated Press, Morissette sang six songs, some old and some new, and told the crowd, "Your town has a really good vibe going." She even helped out in Elyse's science class. Afterwards, the singer had lunch with Elyse and her parents at their hilltop home in Marshfield, Vt., then spent some quality time alone with Elyse. "Everyone at school was so pumped up," said Morgan Wilber, who helped Elyse put her video together and also got to spend some time of his own with Morissette in class. "She put on the big goggles that you wear and helped us."
