Hollywood Set for bin Laden Thriller
British veteran Andy McNab wrote the 1999 fiction book, "Crisis Four," about a terrorist recruit in the White House. Miramax will produce the movie.

Talk about prescient. British special forces veteran Andy McNab wrote the 1999 novel "Crisis Four," in which, notes Reuters, a certain nonfiction Saudi-born dissident named Osama bin Laden plots to blow up the White House and kill the president of the United States. Now Hollywood is turning the book -- which tells the story of the beautiful and British Sarah Greenwood as she recruited by bin Laden to infiltrate the White House -- into a movie. The book is a work of total fiction. Its hero, Nick Stone, is a former SAS soldier modeled closely upon McNab himself. "I am not jumping on the bandwagon. This is not taking advantage of anything," McNab said of his three-year-old book. Miramax will produce the movie. No stars have been announced. As with most people, McNab caught the horrific events of Sept. 11 over the TV. "I didn't believe what I was seeing," he told Reuters. "I had just come back from New York, where I had been doing publicity for my latest novel." Reflecting on that day, he added, "I would never have thought of putting that in a book. It is stranger than fiction."
