All-Star Bike Sold, Dogg Busted
SOLD: A motorcycle bearing the autographs of such stars as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Denzel Washington, Nicole Kidman, Nicolas Cage, Salma Hayek, John Travolta, Sylvester Stallone, Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Cruise, Angelina Jolie, Ellen DeGeneres and Tim Allen, and put up for auction by "Tonight" show host Jay Leno, drew a top bid of $360,200 that will benefit victims of the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center, the comedian's publicist said on Thursday. The winner of the eBay online auction will appear Friday on "Tonight" to accept the limited edition Harley-Davidson motorbike. Spokeswoman Carrie Simons said that the buyer is not a celebrity, just "some guy who has a lot of money who thought it would be a cool thing to do." . . . ARRESTED: Rapper Snoop Dogg (real name: Calvin Broadus), 29, was charged with marijuana possession after police stopped two of his "Puff, Puff, Pass 2001" tour buses for speeding outside Cleveland on Wednesday. He faces a $100 penalty for possession of the drug, and a $250 penalty and 30 days in jail for the paraphernalia charge. Two other passengers also were charged . . . SENTENCED: Grammy-winning rapper Jay-Z (real name: Shawn Carter), 31, was ordered to three years probation on Wednesday after pleading guilty to charges of stabbing a record producer during a fight in a nightclub. He'd pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault, admitting he stabbed Lance "Un" Rivera on Dec. 1, 1999, at a party for rapper Q-Tip at Manhattan's Kit Kat Klub . . . (ALMOST) CAST: A new "Benji," the movie mutt who captured audiences' hearts in the '70s and early '80s, is about to be announced, reports Variety. Producer Joe Camp told columnist Army Archerd that the final choice will be made next week after Camp completes a cross-country search. The four candidates hail from Gardena, Calif., and "foster homes" in Mississippi, Chicago and Phoenix. Camp hopes to start filming "Benji Returns: The Promise of Christmas" after the first of the year, for a release date of December 2002.
