" 'N Sync can't last forever," says Lance Bass, who should know, since he's the bass behind the band. "Hopefully, we've got another good ten years ahead of us. But it's never too early to get a second, fall-back career going." And it gets going this weekend with the opening of "On the Line," a $10 million romantic comedy in which Bass, 22, and bandmate Joey Fatone make their acting debuts. "I just think with the acting, there's not a time limit on it," Bass told Entertainment Weekly (which, like PEOPLE, is owned by Time Inc.). "That's why I want to get into this -- I love to entertain, and this lives forever." Bass also started a business career in January, creating a production company, A Happy Place, to bring athletes and musicians into the movies. They haven't found a script they like yet, so don't hold your breath. "Five guys, bound for destiny, singing in a group," he says. "That's what we do in real life."
