Broadway Rises From the Ashes
Shows that closed after September 11 are now set to reopen with the help of Jerry Springer.

New Yorkers are flocking back to Broadway, even if the usual tourist audience is still reluctant to visit (or at least fly to) the Big Apple. "Bat Boy the Musical" is set to reopen with tickets being sold through next year, as is the acclaimed off-Broadway production "The Syringa Tree." Most prominently, "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" will start up again with talk show host Jerry Springer replacing Dick Cavett in the role of the narrator. It is actually Springer's second time around in the transgender musical. He first played the narrator in Cincinnati 20 years ago. "The role is no stretch," he told Variety. "There's not much difference between the characters in the show and the characters on my show."
