CBS managed to break NBC's month-long winning streak in the ratings race, with several CBS series registering as the most-watched episodes of last week. Two CBS Tuesday dramas -- "Judging Amy" (with 17.6 million viewers) and the brand new "The Guardian" (16 million) -- reached series highs in total viewers, as did the network's highest-rated drama, the 2-year-old "CSI: Crime Investigation" on Thursday (24.7 million). CBS's third Tuesday drama, "JAG" (17.9 million viewers), scored its second-largest audience ever. As for CBS's "Survivor: Africa" (20.4 million), the numbers actually leveled off after slipping during its second outing the previous week but was trumped for a second straight week by NBC's "Friends" (25.6 million) in the 8-8:30 p.m. slot. ABC's new 8-9 p.m. Wednesday comedy block, "My Wife and Kids" and "According to Jim," continues to grow, with both sitcoms logging series highs in total viewers and in the 18-49 age group.
