The Oscar winner co-hosted a benefit last night at London's Old Vic Theatre to raise pounds and dollars to help victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks. Dame Judi Dench, who also won an Oscar -- for her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth I in "Shakespeare in Love" -- was his co-host for the evening's event, called "Unite for the Future." Spacey proved that he's at least a double threat (no one's seen him dance yet) as he sang a rendition of the Beatles' "Hey Jude." Other performers included the dashing Jude Law, singer Art Garfunkel. and the London Gospel Choir, reports the Associated Press. The evening's organizer, Susan Hayden, said, "Music is the underlying theme of the evening. We are celebrating music and freedom." Over $580,000 was raised, which is earmarked for several charities, including Doctors Without Borders, the World Trade Center Disaster Fund and Open Minds, a British organization devoted to increasing cultural understanding around the world. Former first kid Chelsea Clinton, Bianca Jagger and Vanessa Redgrave attended the show.
