A well-known episode of the hit '90s sitcom "Seinfeld" -- in which a character dies after licking envelopes -- has been yanked from syndication over sensitivity about the recent anthrax scare, a spokeswoman for the syndicators told Reuters on Monday. In the episode, George Costanza (Jason Alexander) ends up getting off the marital hook when his fiancée, Susan, falls ill and dies after licking the envelopes to the wedding invitations. The segment, titled "The Invitation," which was from the show's seventh season, had been due to run in syndication last Monday but was replaced with another episode, said Andi Sporkin of Columbia TriStar Domestic Television. Since the Sept. 11 skyjacking attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon, the company has been screening "every episode of every show we have" for content that might be objectionable, Sporkin said, adding that the "Invitation" episode has not been rescheduled.
