Clooney and Soderbergh Go for Hat Trick

The heartthrob actor and Oscar-winning director Steven Soderbergh have worked together in 1998's "Out of Sight" and the soon-to-open "Ocean's Eleven" and are also partners in a production company. Now they've confirmed that they will film a remake of the Russian science-fiction thriller, "Solaris," reports Variety. The cult favorite from 1972 was based on a Russian novel by Stanislaw Lem and explores humankind's attempts to communicate with the universe. Their Warner Brothers-based production company, Section 8, will not be involved with the film. In between appearances to promote the remake of the Rat Pack classic "Ocean's Eleven," both Clooney and Soderbergh have been at work on other projects. The bedroom-eyed actor is making his debut as a director with the Chuck Barris biopic "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind," and Soderbergh, who won last year's Best Director Oscar for "Erin Brockovich," is currently filming "Full Frontal" with -- yet again -- Julia Roberts.
