McEnroe to Host TV Reality Game Show

Tennis bad boy John McEnroe, 42, is entering a new arena, but one for which he seems perfectly suited: hosting a TV game show. McEnroe has been tapped to emcee ABC's upcoming reality game program "The Chair," according to the Hollywood Reporter. In each episode, up to eight contestants will be undergo questioning while hooked up to a heart monitor. The player who can answer correctly without his base heart rate exceeding a predetermined limit will win the prize money. Known as a volatile player with a personality to match, McEnroe was the No.1 tennis champ in the world 4 times (1981 to 1984); four-time U.S. Open champ (1979 to 1981 and1984); and a three-time Wimbledon champ (1981,1983 and 1984). He also won five Davis Cups (1978, 1979, 1981, 1982 and 1992); took the NCAA singles title in 1978, and finished his career with 77 singles championships and 77 more in men's doubles. He also has guest-starred as himself on several series and was a highly successful sports commentator for networks including CBS, NBC, USA, the BBC and Australia's Channel 7.
