STUBBED: Rosie O'Donnell, 39, told viewers of her talk show late last week that she "may have broken a toe" after taking a tumble down the stairs of her home. "The town house has 112 steps, seven stories," she told guest Kate Winslet. "I went head first." A publicist later termed the injury not serious . . .CANCELED: CBS has shut down production of "The Ellen Show," the struggling sitcom starring Ellen DeGeneres, 43. Variety reports that after originally ordering a full season of 22 episodes of the show, the network pulled the plug after filming only 18. Budgetary considerations are being blamed . . . FELLED: Former Prime Minister of England, Margaret Thatcher, 76, has suffered what was believed to be a minor stroke, her daughter, Carol Thatcher, told the BBC on Saturday. Thatcher, who is actually Baroness Thatcher, reportedly fell ill while celebrating her 50th wedding anniversary with husband Denis on the Portuguese island of Madeira over New Year's. Carol Thatcher said the incident had been "very, very minor" . . . DIED: Author Astrid Lindgren, 94 -- who created the freckled heroine with the long, red, upturned braids, Pippi Longstocking -- died in her sleep Monday at her Stockholm home after several days of illness, a family spokesman told Swedish newspapers. Lindgren's works were translated into dozens of languages and sold more than 130 million copies worldwide . . . ANNOUNCED: "The Way We Were" star, "Ordinary People" director and Sundance Film Festival founder Robert Redford, 64, will receive an honorary Oscar at the March 24 Academy Awards ceremony, recognizing his work as an actor, filmmaker and festival founder, organizers said on Friday . . .SHUTTERED: After seven years online, the Minnesota-based Michael Jackson Internet Fan Club closed its virtual doors on Thursday, reports ABCNEWS.com. According to a message on the site, "We are now ready to move on to other tasks in our lives." No reason for the shutdown was given. So much for being "Invincible."
