Variety reports that after originally ordering a full season of 22 episodes of the show, the network pulled the plug after filming only 18. Budgetary considerations are being blamed . . . FELLED: Former Prime Minister of England, Margaret Thatcher, 76, has suffered what was believed to be a minor stroke, her daughter, Carol Thatcher, told the BBC on Saturday. Thatcher, who is actually Baroness Thatcher, reportedly fell ill while celebrating her 50th wedding anniversary with husband Denis on the Portuguese island of Madeira over New Year's. Carol Thatcher said the incident had been "very, very minor" . . . DIED: Author Astrid Lindgren, 94 -- who created the freckled heroine with the long, red, upturned braids, Pippi Longstocking -- died in her sleep Monday at her Stockholm home after several days of illness, a family spokesman told Swedish newspapers. Lindgren's works were translated into dozens of languages and sold more than 130 million copies worldwide . . .
