ABC has announced the lineup for Barbara Walters's 21st annual pre-Oscar show. The veteran newswoman, 70, will chat with the often interview-shy Tom Cruise, "Monster's Ball" Best Actress nominee Halle Berry and "Sex and the City" star Sarah Jessica Parker. The special is set to air March 24 at 7 p.m. EST, and immediately after the Oscars on the West Coast. Meanwhile, Walters was interviewed before a live audience Monday night by NBC's chief foreign affairs correspondent Andrea Mitchell, reports PEOPLE. The Q&A took place at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Among her remarks, Walters said that TV news has changed since the events of Sept. 11. "Before," she said, "we were doing feature pieces. We were doing celebrities. We were doing models and their romances. And the big interview right then, just before September 11th, was the Friday before on "20/20" -- Anne Heche. Do any of you remember Anne Heche? She thought that she was from outer space and that she was another person? Huge, hugely rated. And then September 11th happened. Everything changed in this country, and everything changed in news. One of those things that changed was that we were finally interested in foreign policy. Before that we didn't know where Afghanistan was or Pakistan. We didn't know. We didn't care. But we had our eyes opened in so many different ways."
