Jodie Foster, opening in the fright movie "Panic Room," enjoyed the biggest opening ever during the Easter holiday, topping the $27.8 million record set by "The Matrix" in 1999, noted the Hollywood Reporter. The computer-animated "Ice Age" also melted hearts at its studio with an impressive weekend take (in 17 days it has earned an estimated $117.3 million, crossing the $100 million mark on Friday -- the first film released in 2002 to reach that peak). "The Rookie," with Dennis Quaid, represented that actor's biggest opening ever and performed ahead of expectations, said the Reporter. "Blade II," with Wesley Snipes, suffered a sharp drop in business since last weekend (when it was No. 1), while "Clockstoppers" had a mild opening and "Death to Smoochy," with Edward Norton and Robin Williams, did disappointing business that may improve as word of the movie's dark humor spreads. The Top 10 movies at the box office this weekend, according to movie studio estimates, are as follows:

1. "Panic Room," $30.2 million
2. "Ice Age," $18.6 million
3. "The Rookie," $15.8 million
4. "Blade II," $13.2 million
5. "Clockstoppers," $10.1 million
6. "E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial," $6.1 million
7. "Death to Smoochy," $4.3 million
8. "A Beautiful Mind," $4 million
9. "We Were Soldiers," $3.53 million
10. "Showtime," $3.5 million
