Jon Favreau Invites You to 'Dinner'
Never been invited to dinner with a group of celebrities? Now's your chance, thanks to the new series, "Dinner For Five," which is set to premiere on the Independent Film Channel April 15. Each week, actor Jon Favreau ("Swingers," "Made") will host a dinner with four friends from the entertainment industry, who will dish the dirt about life in the Hollywood trenches. "It's an opportunity to show people in a positive light without making people look bad, which a lot of reality shows do," Favreau, 35, told PEOPLE.com at a launch party for the series at Manhattan's The Cutting Room (co-owned by "Sex and the City" star Chris Noth). "That's what I think is interesting, showing people interacting in a natural environment and not under the hot lights in front of an audience." Most of the stars who appear "are people I've hung out with," he says. Among those booked in the coming weeks: Garry Shandling, Jeff Goldblum, Ray Romano, Daryl Hannah, Denis Leary, P. Diddy, John Leguizamo, Juliette Lewis, Peter Falk, Cheri Oteri, Christian Slater and Bonnie Hunt. Favreau thinks viewers will bite. "Nowadays, people seem to have a real long attention span for reality-based programming, and people like celebrities. Though the show is bare bones as far as the production values go, I think people are going to get drawn in and intrigued. I know I like watching a (reality-based) show like 'The Osbournes' or 'Project Greenlight.'"
