J.Lo's Next Venture: Scent, Makeup
Jennifer Lopez, who already dresses women, is now poised to make them smell good, too. European cosmetics giant the Lancaster Group (the prestige division of Coty Inc.), said it has entered into an exclusive international licensing agreement with Jennifer Lopez's Sweetface Fashion Co., LLC, to develop and market a fragrance and cosmetics line with the J.Lo by Jennifer Lopez brand. The move marks the entertainer's entrance into the high mark-up world of makeup. Launch date is this fall. "The products will be designed to reflect the inspirational, confident and desirable qualities of Jennifer Lopez herself," Lancaster said in a statement. "I think people will find that this fragrance embodies the J.Lo brand's spirit, character, energy -- it is a true reflection of the modern, independent, yet passionate woman," Lopez, 31, said in a statement. Sweetface Fashion was formed in April 2001 as a joint venture with Lopez. Financial terms of her agreement with Lancaster were not disclosed, nor were details about what her as-yet-unnamed scent will smell like.
