Britney's Kid Sister Waits in Wings
Another Spears is preparing to burst onto the pop culture scene: Britney's little sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, 11. The New York Post reports that last week the sixth grader trotted the runway at a Kids 'R' Us fashion show outfitted as a cheerleader, though modeling is not high on her list of professional priorities. "I want to be a singer and an actor," she told the tabloid. The younger Spears has some performance experience, mostly on the coattails of Britney. This includes sharing the stage with the main attraction in "Britney Spears: Live from Las Vegas," starring with Britney in a Pepsi TV commercial and doing a cameo as young Britney in the recent now-you-see-it-now-you-don't teen flick "Crossroads." But the Post says there may be bigger -- and less nepotistic -- things in store for Jamie Lynn's future, including a possible Nickelodeon show of her own. There are those who say that Jamie Lynn actually sings better than Britney -- big sis among them. "(My sister) has a better voice than I do," Britney, 20, told the San Diego Union-Tribune last year. "I support her 100 percent." As for the other Spears sibling, hunky brother Bryan, 25, the Post reports that he's too busy working in product merchandising in Manhattan to concern himself with show biz. Their mom, Lynne Spears, adds, "He's too macho."
