More bad news for Robert Blake. The four children of his slain wife, Bonny Lee Bakley, are suing the actor, 68, and his bodyguard, Earle Caldwell, 46, for wrongful death, Reuters reports. The two already are facing criminal charges in her murder. The suit, filed Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court, seeks unspecified damages on behalf of the children: Rose Lenore Sophia Blake, 22 months (whose father is Blake); Jeri Lee Lewis, 7 (whom Bakley had claimed was fathered by rocker Jerry Lee Lewis); and Glenn Paul Gawron and Holly Lee Gawron, Bakley's grown children from a previous marriage. The lawsuit, which asserts that the children are Bakley's sole heirs, claims that because of the murder, they have been "permanently deprived of (Bakley's) love, care, comfort, companionship, services, society, solace, affection, instruction, advice, training, guidance, protection, counsel, contributions, accumulations and inheritance," according to the news service. Caldwell is free on $1 million bail (posted by Blake) after pleading not guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit murder; Blake is being held without bail after pleading innocent to murder, conspiracy and solicitation of murder charges. He could be sentenced to life in prison if convicted. Attorneys for both sides could not be reached for comment by the news service.
