PASSAGES: Vecepia 'Survivor' Victor
WON: Vecepia "Vee" Towery, 36, an office manager from Portland, Ore., beat Neleh Dennis, 21, a psychology student from Layton, Utah, when the dust settled Sunday night at the conclusion of CBS's "Survivor: Marquesas." Towery will take home $1 million . . . DELIVERED: Some 35 million viewers tuned in to watch Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) deliver baby Emma on Thursday's one-hour season finale to the NBC sitcom "Friends," according to preliminary numbers released by Nielsen Meida research. That gave the hot show its best numbers since a special episode in 1996, which followed the Super Bowl and attracted 53 million people . . . INHERITED: Queen Elizabeth, 76, has inherited the entire estate of her late mother, the Queen Mum, who died last month at the age of 101. British press reports place the value of the late monarch's estate at $73 million, mostly in art, jewels and racehorses . . . RESURRECTED: Dave Thomas, the late founder and advertising spokesman of the Wendy's burger chain, will be brought back to the fast-food company's ad campaign, reports The New York Times. (Thomas, 69, died of liver cancer last January.) On commercials, says the paper, an announcer will push cheeseburgers and salads as being "prepared Dave's way." Thomas's photo and service creed ("Great food, made fresh, served by nice people") will also appear on a poster to be hung in all 5,700 Wendy's restaurants in the U.S. and Canada. It appears that eaters missed him.
