German supermodel Claudia Schiffer and her British film producer fiancé Matthew Vaughn, set to marry this weekend at their English country home, issued a joint statement Wednesday, saying that if their marriage breaks up they will not claim any of the other's property, reports Reuters. "This agreement is verbal and is representative of the trust that both have in the strength and longevity of their relationship," said the statement, which came in the wake of reports that Schiffer's father, a lawyer, had drawn up a pre-nuptial agreement, per her request. The bride and groom, both 31, "have not entered into a pre-nuptial agreement," their statement went on to say. "Both being independently wealthy have agreed that in the unlikely event of a split, neither will make a claim on the assets of the other." Last week, Reuters reported that for slightly more than $7 million Schiffer and Vaughn recently purchased the 16th-century Coldham Hall in Suffolk, England, considered a prime example of Tudor properties. As was the case with Madonna and Guy Ritchie's Dec. 2000 wedding at Skibo Castle in Dornach, Scotland, those involved in this weekend's nuptials, from the florists to the vicar, have reportedly been asked to sign confidentiality agreements, vowing not to leak details to the press.
