The sound of wedding bells appears to be growing more imminent for German supermodel Claudia Schiffer and English film producer Matthew Vaughn, reports Reuters. A Church of England official told the news service on Wednesday that the couple had been granted a special license to marry on May 25 in the county of Suffolk, though he declined to state what venue would house the ceremony. (All this is slightly reminiscent of the lead into Madonna's wedding to Guy Ritchie in Scotland in December 2000. Vaughn, by the way, was Ritchie's best man at that ceremony and had produced the director's "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.") The request for the special license had to be made because Schiffer and Vaughn, both 31, do not reside in the area -- not yet, anyway. Reuters also reports that for slightly more than $7 million the couple recently purchased the 16th-century Coldham Hall in Suffolk, considered a prime example of Tudor properties. As was the case with Madonna's wedding at Skibo Castle in Dornach, Scotland, those involved in the nuptials, from the florists to the vicar, have reportedly been asked to sign confidentiality agreements, vowing not to leak details to the press. Schiffer was previously engaged to magician David Copperfield, 45, for some six years, from 1993-99.
