Harrelson, MacLachlan a Hit in London

Good news for actors this weekend: Woody Harrelson, 40, and Kyle MacLachlan, 43, got terrific stage notices in London, where they have opened in "On an Average Day," John Kolvenbach's drama of two brothers meeting for the first time in 15 years. Critic Jonathan Myerson of The Independent newspaper wrote that the pair "acted their socks off." Other critics echoed his sentiment, no doubt fueling a further migration of American stars to London's West End theater district. Recently, the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Nicole Kidman, Matt Damon and Hayden Christensen have earned positive reviews in London, though Madonna, in the show "Up for Grabs," was generally deemed in above her head onstage. Meanwhile, in other theater news, "The Sopranos" star Edie Falco and actor-director-writer Stanley Tucci ("Big Night") opened in Terence McNally's "Frankie and Johnny at the Clair de Lune" on Broadway Thursday night and, perhaps not surprisingly, nearly everyone from the cast of the HBO Mob hit was there, including James Gandolfini. (HBO, like PEOPLE, is part of AOL Time Warner.) Aida Turturro, 39, who plays Mafia sister Janice Soprano, told PEOPLE.com that her role, which was diminished last season, has grown again for season four, which kicks off next month. "I have lots more to do," she said, not revealing what that was, exactly. "You'll see," she added. "It's great."
