RELEASED: Country icon Johnny Cash, 70, checked out of a Nashville hospital Tuesday after staying overnight because of an allergic reaction. "It was either medicine or something he ate," his manager told AP. ... HONORED: Singer Michael Bolton, 49, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Tuesday while on tour to promote his album "Only a Woman Like You." His place on the pavement is directly across the street from Grauman's Chinese Theater, notes the Associated Press. ... INJURED: "Superman" star Margot Kidder, 53, is recuperating from a broken pelvis she sustained Sunday in Maine when her GMC Yukon hit a raised pavement and rolled over several times, the Associated Press reports. A friend of the actress says Kidder was in a lot of pain, but she's not expected to need surgery and she's "in good spirits." ... ANNOUNCED: CBS is resurrecting "The Beverly Hillbillies" as a reality series, reports Variety. The new show, based on a '60s sitcom about an Ozark family that strikes oil and moves to the land of swimming pools and movie stars, will follow the adventures of a rural, lower-middle class family as they are transplanted from their humble digs to a Beverly Hills mansion. The project is tentatively titled "Real Beverly Hillbillies" — and yes, Variety reports there will be a Granny. Ellie Mae's critters must be jumping for joy.
