He may have lost out on his bid to blast off to the International Space Station due to lack of funds, but 'N Sync singer Lance Bass has received another offer -- a cheaper one.

For just $1 million, rock guitarist and National Rifle Association board member Ted Nugent (whose books include "God, Guns & Rock 'n' Roll" and "Kill It and Grill It: A Guide to Preparing and Cooking Wild Game and Fish") says Bass can come to his Michigan ranch, where he will teach the boy-band member essential bow-hunting skills, the Associated Press reports.

Nugent, 53, says that Bass, 23, can then accompany him on a weeklong hunt, "where he'll be taught a greater appreciation for nature and gravity as he hunts, kills, cleans and cooks for himself."

Bass, who for most of the summer was training at Russia's Star City outside Moscow, had been hoping to go on a $20-million, eight-day space mission set to launch on Oct. 28.

But, Nugent tells the AP, "Bass needs to quit worrying about going into outer space and embrace and celebrate life by learning how to kill his own food. A slab of flesh on the back of a deer is the finest source of protein on the planet."

Nugent, who made the offer on Tuesday, says he'd even sweeten the deal by "throwing in a few guitar lessons."

As of Thursday, there was still no comment from Bass's publicist, Jill Fritzo.
