Bryant Gumbel Marries Longtime Friend

With very little fanfare -- and with only about 25 friends and family members in attendance -- former CBS "Early Show" host Bryant Gumbel married longtime girlfriend Hilary Quinlan Saturday night at the Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach, Fla., PEOPLE.com has learned. A dinner followed the ceremony. The two had been engaged since Gumbel, 54, proposed last December -- four months after the finalization of his prolonged and acrimonious divorce from his first wife, June, 53. This is the first marriage for Quinlan, 42, a former Goldman Sachs analyst turned model. Besides "Today" host Matt Lauer (who replaced Gumbel on the NBC morning show), wedding guests also included one of Gumbel's two children, Bradley Christopher Gumbel, 24. (Gumbel also has a daughter, Jillian Beth, 18.) Just a day before the ceremony, the younger Gumbel had been released by the Manhattan District Attorney's office after he was wrongly arrested in a case of mistaken identity after a purse snatching. Reuters reported that Bradley had somehow fit the police description of the alleged snatcher.
