Biggs Joins Ben and J.Lo in 'Jersey'
The "American Pie" star plans to moonlight from Broadway's "The Graduate" to costar with the real-life couple in "Jersey Girl."

"American Pie" star Jason Biggs, who's been parading around in his boxer shorts in "The Graduate" on Broadway, is about to join forces with real-life couple Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez in their new movie. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the New Jersey-born actor has joined the cast of "Jersey Girl," from director Kevin Smith ("Clerks"). The project begins shooting this week in Philadelphia, as well as in Biggs' and Smith's home state. The movie isn't expected to interrupt Biggs' Broadway schedule, as he will commute between the film location and New York's Plymouth Theater, where he costars with Kathleen Turner (who does not wear so much as boxer shorts in the show). Written by Smith, "Jersey Girl" revolves around publicist Ollie Trinke (Affleck) and the effects that a new wife (Lopez) and 6-year-old daughter have on his seemingly full life, according to the trade paper. (Affleck and Lopez have already completed the upcoming "Gigli" together.) Liv Tyler also has a role in "Jersey Girl," playing a video store clerk. After completion of the movie, Biggs, 24, will continue to perform in "The Graduate" until mid-November, when he will return to Los Angeles and begin production on "American Pie 3," for which he is said to be receiving an eight-figure paycheck. Biggs also took time off from "The Graduate" this summer to work on Woody Allen 's upcoming film, "Anything Else."
