The network is expected to replace Jane Clayson, 35, as co-host of CBS's "The Early Show," according to the Hollywood Reporter, while former "CBS This Morning" co-anchor Harry Smith, who now hosts A&E's "Biography," is looking to be the likely successor to the departed Bryant Gumbel.
Clayson joined the show with Gumbel in November 1999.
Speaking to the trade paper, Clayson's agent, Richard Liebner, said: "They have not hired anybody to replace her. She has not been informed she is out. There's no final decision."
A CBS News spokeswoman said the network would not comment on "Early Show" speculation and that no decision on the co-anchor situation was imminent.
Another name that has been bandied about to replace Gumbel is that of Tom Bergeron, the former "Hollywood Squares" host who has been on the show throughout the summer. The Reporter says that he still remains a candidate.
