No Doubt singer Gwen Stefani, more accustomed to navel-baring outfits on the concert stage, opted for a traditional white John Galliano dress at her London wedding on Saturday, as she married Bush guitarist-frontman Gavin Rossdale.
No Doubt's Interscope Records publicist confirms to PEOPLE.com that the two musicians tied the knot Saturday. The ceremony took place at St. Paul's Church in London's Covent Garden.
A stateside ceremony also is expected to take place Sept. 28 in Los Angeles, said the publicist.
According to press reports, Rossdale, whose mother is Scottish, donned a traditional British morning suit for Saturday's ceremony, while the guest of honor, the couple's Hungarian sheep dog Winston, was decked out in pink and purple flowers.
The pair's rock romance dates back to the spring of 1996, when No Doubt opened for Bush at the time of Bush's debut album, "Sixteen Stone," and No Doubt's second disc, "Tragic Kingdom." While Stefani, 32, has been singing about her wedding day for years now (with not-so-subtle musical hints like "Marry Me"), Rossdale, 34, finally proposed to her this past New Year's Day.
After the L.A. ceremony, the bride and groom are due to honeymoon in France, although it had been announced that No Doubt was opening for the Rolling Stones on three of the band's North American dates this fall -- Oct. 12 in Detroit, Oct. 18 in Toronto and Oct. 26 in Atlanta.
Last month, No Doubt won Best Pop Video and Best Group Video at the MTV Video Music Awards for the song, "Hey Baby."
