Brace yourselves: For 24 straight hours starting at 8 p.m. ET Saturday, former Hole singer Courtney Love will be in charge of music network MTV2.
According to the Associated Press, the outspoken rock diva, 38, will be allowed to play the videos of her choosing, invite friends to gab on camera and to do anything else Love loves to do, the network said Monday.
"MTV2 has always been home to a variety of artists," David Cohn, MTV2 general manager, tells the news service, who notes that this is the first time the network has relinquished control to an artist for an entire day.
Cohn added, "We are thrilled to give Courtney the first set of keys."
Love is due to take over the MTV studios in Times Square for "24 Hours of Love."
Of course, this doesn't mean that Love needs to pull an all-nighter. An MTV spokesman says that when the widow of Nirvana's Kurt Cobain sleeps, the network will probably show snippets of her dozing.
Sounds fascinating.
