PASSAGES: Carson Says He's 'Dealing'
ANNOUNCED: Six-time Grammy winner Toni Braxton, 33, and her producer-husband Keri Lewis, 31, are expecting their second child early next year. Their son, Denim Cole Braxton Lewis, will be 1 year old in December. "She's in good health and very excited about welcoming her new child to the family," Arista Records publicist Sandie Smith tells Reuters.
ADOPTED: Marie Osmond, 42, and her husband, music producer Brian Blosil, confirm to "Entertainment Tonight" that they have adopted a baby girl named Abigail. The couple, married since 1986, now have eight children. (Five of them, including Abigail, are adopted.)
MOURNED: Former Dallas Cowboy Bob Hayes, 59, died of kidney failure Wednesday, the Associated Press reports. He also had been suffering with liver ailments and prostate cancer. Hayes, who earned the title of "World's Fastest Human" and was nicknamed "Bullet," fell victim to drugs and alcohol and went to prison -- one reason why he never made the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
ACCEPTED: While admitting no guilt, "Bachelor Party" actress Tawny Kitaen, 41, agreed Wednesday to a plea bargain on spousal abuse and battery charges stemming from an alleged physical attack April 1 on her husband, St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Chuck Finley, 39. The Associated Press reports that under the terms of the court agreement, she will enter a spousal battery counseling program and avoid contact with Finley, whom she had wed in 1997. A $500 donation to a battered-women's shelter is also due from the actress.
