As the new TV season unrolls, a hit has emerged: CBS's "CSI: Miami," whose Monday premiere this week attracted nearly 23 million viewers, making it the most-watched September drama debut since "ER" in 1994, the Associated Press reports.

The Florida-based spin-off of the hit "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" stars David Caruso and Kim Delaney.

As for last week's ratings, according to Nielsen, the John Ritter comedy on ABC, "8 Simple Rules," had impressive results, landing in the Top 10, as did the same network's new "Life with Bonnie." The Ben Affleck-Matt Damon-produced "Push, Nevada" finished in the Top 20, but it was CBS's return of "Survivor" that was the most-watched program of the week, pulling in 23 million viewers Thursday night.
