Jamie Lynn Spears, 11, the younger sister of a phenom named Britney, 20, tells the Associated Press, "I'll probably do a lot of acting first, then go to singing."
"But I am going to definitely sing someday," Spears adds after what AP called "a brief moment of reflection." Then, revealing a good head for business, she said, "So when I do start singing, buy my album."
Jamie Lynn, who looks like a younger, thinner version of her famous sister, is actually the third Spears. The girls have an older brother, Bryan, 25.
At the moment, Jamie Lynn is in school and holding down a job as the youngest cast member of the comedy-variety show "All That" on Nickelodeon, described as a sort of "Saturday Night Live" for kids.
Earlier this year, she did a cameo as a younger version of her sister in "Crossroads," Britney's film debut, and she's done a smattering of commercials.
"At first I was too scared to act in front of these people, so I was real shy," says Jamie Lynn, referring to "All That" cast members Shane Lyons and Chelsea Brummet.
"But then," she adds, "they were actually really nice. I thought they were going to be these serious people. But they were a lot of fun."
