MTV Waffles on New 'Osbournes' Season
As far as the second-season premiere of MTV's "The Osbournes" is concerned, network president Brian Graden said this week that "all systems are go" for a kickoff sometime in early November, according to the Associated Press.
Then again, for reasons unexplained, the network may still decide to postpone the show, possibly to January, MTV spokeswoman Vanessa Reyes also tells the news service.
As PEOPLE.com reported two weeks ago, Sharon Osbourne's current treatment for colon cancer is playing a part in MTV's scheduling of the second season of the hit reality sitcom about the offbeat rock family.
MTV has been keeping its January calendar open for the debut of the new season of "The Osbournes" should it turn out that Sharon's medical treatment sidelines next month's planned season premiere.
At this point, however, "The Osbournes" is still set to begin its second season sometime in late November, though no specific date has been announced.
Sharon, 50, was diagnosed with colon cancer last summer and, surrounded by husband Ozzy and their kids, has been receiving treatment ever since. At the Sept. 22 Emmys Awards, a robust-looking Sharon appeared onstage and received a rousing round of applause when she thanked everyone for the "prayers and good wishes."
Family spokeswoman Lisa Vega had said earlier this month that Sharon is recovering well and a Barbara Walters "20/20" interview with the MTV matriarch is still on tap for Nov. 8.
