Pop star Justin Timberlake may want to make sure his health insurance is up to par: The 'N Sync heartthrob and former Britney beau has followed up his broken heart with a broken foot.

The squeaky-clean singer -- the first breakaway act spun off the boy band -- injured himself while rehearsing a dance routine for Sunday's Smash Hits T4 Poll Winners Party, which he had been slated to co-host with Kelly Osbourne, reports British network ITV.

Timberlake has canceled that appearance, as well as another two weeks of promotional events, according to MTV News.

"I am sorely disappointed that I must miss any scheduled events," said Timberlake, 21, in a statement. "However, I must adhere to my physician's recommendations and rest. I look forward to being able to perform again and hope to see all my fans soon."

Timberlake is still planning to perform in Las Vegas on Dec. 9, at the Billboard Music Awards, MTV reports. Timberlake already had announced that he would not tour to support his new album, "Justified," until next summer.

Timberlake and pop star Britney Spears were pop's reigning couple for four years; the new disc's second single, "Cry Me a River," is widely rumored to be about the pair's breakup.
