Rough sailing for "Dawson's Creek" costar Joshua Jackson: Raleigh, N.C., police arrested him this weekend and charged him with drunkenly assaulting a security guard at a hockey game between the Carolina Hurricanes and the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Associated Press reports.

Jackson, a Vancouver native who plays Pacey on the series (which is filmed in Wilmington, N.C.), is slated to face the misdemeanor charge in court on Dec. 4.

According to his arrest report, Jackson, 24, allegedly grabbed guard Drew Grissom, 40, around the neck and struck him during the Saturday game.

Tests administered in jail to the actor showed that his blood alcohol level registered 0.14 percent. He was released early Sunday after posting $1,000 bail.

Reached on his cell phone Sunday, Jackson declined to comment to Raleigh's News & Observer newspaper.

Jackson has starred on the WB teeny-bopper series for six seasons playing Pacey Witter, the former flame of Joey Potter (Katie Holmes). Jackson also has appeared in such films as "Urban Legend," "Apt Pupil" and HBO's "The Laramie Project," and he had a cameo in last year's "Ocean's Eleven."

More appropriately, one of Jackson's earliest roles was as the cool-headed hockey player Charlie in Disney's "Mighty Ducks" trilogy.
