Sean 'P. Diddy' Combs held a splashy 33rd birthday party Monday night, not far from the Times Square nightclub where a 1999 incident resulted in his trial for possession of a stolen gun -- for which he was acquitted.
But nothing in the past dampened the spirits of Monday's bash. According to the Associated Press, Combs ensured that everyone dressed appropriately, and kept the security tight and the champagne flowing.
Among the guests at the Supper Club were Carmen Electra, supermodels Tyra Banks and Gisele Bündchen, rappers Ice Cube and Ice-T, singers Ashanti and Craig David, and actress Drea de Matteo of "The Sopranos."
Regarding the dress code, male guests were required to wear suits, while the women were asked to wear dresses, said Rob Shuter, a spokesman for Combs.
Once inside, guests were treated to the sight of champagne bottles placed on red tablecloths on both floors of the two-story nightclub, as well as hundreds of silver balloons hanging from the ceiling. On the walls: photos of Combs with his young son and mother.
Outside, police barricades kept gawkers at bay all the way across the street -- though the onlookers really only numbered a few dozen.
