Why Sharon and Ozzy Called the Cops
While it's no surprise that police would have been summoned to quell some rowdiness at the Osbournes' New Year's Eve party at the Beverly Hills Hotel -- where the MTV couple renewed their wedding vows as part of a belated 20th-anniversary fete -- it is something of a shocker that the cops were called in on account of an alleged theft.
According to the Los Angeles Times, an unidentified female agent from the ICM talent agency claims that she won an Asprey jeweler diamond necklace at a raffle during the party. Sharon Osbourne, 50, however, maintains the drawing was strictly for invited guests -- and that nobody had invited the agent. (The party reportedly had a casino theme, and the Village People entertained.)
According to a Beverly Hills police report filed by the Osbournes, the hosts asked the woman to give back the necklace, which is purportedly worth $15,000.
She clearly did not. Police haven't divulged the woman's name because at this time she is not a suspect in any crime, the Times reports.
Meanwhile, ICM is sticking by its embattled agent. According to a statement released by the firm, "ICM categorically denies the false and reckless charges made by Sharon Osbourne. ... The agent in question was the guest of a close friend of the Osbourne family and won raffle tickets for the necklace in a fair manner and without any inappropriate conduct."
Police are determining whether the case should be handed over to the district attorney.
