It's Elvis time in the Lone Star state.
The Associated Press reports that hundreds of fans are expected to gather this weekend at "Little Graceland" in Los Fresnos, Texas, to mark what would have been the 68th birthday of the King, who died in 1977.
Presley's actual birthday is next Wednesday, Jan. 8.
Simon Vega, who served with Elvis in the Army in the late '50s, has turned the second story of his Los Fresnos home into a museum dedicated to Presley.
"There are things you wouldn't find in a normal exhibit, such as pictures with (Vega) and pictures of Elvis when he wasn't performing," Dan Bodeaux, director of the Los Fresnos Chamber of Commerce, tells AP.
Celebrations of this kind take place twice a year at Little Graceland. The other occurs around Aug. 16, the day Elvis died.
"The attendance seems to increase every year," Justice of the Peace Ramon Ortiz, who served as emcee for last August's celebration, tells Texas's Brownsville Herald.
Bodeaux also says the Elvis days boost his town's profile and income. Added Mayor Tom Jones: "Elvis in Los Fresnos is one of those undiscovered treasures."
