Bobby Brown was released from Atlanta's Grady Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, one day after being transferred there from jail for what remains an undisclosed condition, Reuters reports.

The R&B musician, 33, was also released from jail custody under a "good time" policy that reduces sentences by 25 percent for good behavior.

Brown, the husband of Whitney Houston, 39, had been serving an eight-day jail sentence since last Friday, after pleading guilty to a 1996 drunken driving charge.

DeKalb County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Mikki Jones has declined to provide details of Brown's treatment in the hospital, telling news services that an inmate's medical information is confidential.

Brown reportedly had been hospitalized after complaining of an undisclosed ailment early Tuesday. The hospital listed him in good condition, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Brown was placed on two years' probation last Friday, and was ordered to perform community service and not drive for a year.

The musician ran afoul of the law early last week when DeKalb County State Court Judge Wayne Purdom ordered his arrest. The jurist said the singer's live performance on ABC's American Music Awards in Los Angeles violated conditions of his bond, which stipulated that he remain in Georgia until his trial.

Brown, who has a history of run-ins with the law going back to his youth in Boston, faces other charges in Georgia. In early November, Brown was arrested in Atlanta and charged with possessing less than an ounce of marijuana, speeding and having no driver's license or proof of insurance.
