Gere Shares Hit List with Norah Jones
The soundtrack to the movie "Chicago" -- with Gere, Zellweger, Zeta-Jones and Queen Latifah -- debuts at No. 4 on the album charts.

Even before the movie collected three Golden Globes on Sunday, the soundtrack to the best picture, "Chicago" -- featuring the voices of best leading actors Richard Gere and Renee Zellweger, as well as those of Catherine Zeta-Jones and Queen Latifah -- sold 83,000 units and debuted at the No. 4 spot on the album sales charts, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Expect "Chicago" to get an added boost once this week's post-Golden Globe sales are tallied.
Topping "Chicago" on the list was Norah Jones, who was No. 1 for the second week running thanks to her Grammy-nominated debut CD "Come Away With Me," which sold another 114,000 copies to pass the three-million mark.
Another Grammy nominee, punk-pop starlet Avril Lavigne, took a step up reclaim the No. 2 position with her triple-platinum smash "Let Go," while "Home" from this week's PEOPLE cover girls, the Dixie Chicks, rose to third place.
Also worth noting, Variety reports, is that the Jan. 12 death of Bee Gee Maurice Gibb caused the group's best-of collection, "Their Greatest Hits: The Record," to re-enter the charts at No. 55. (The disc sold 17,000 copies.)
On Wednesday, surviving Gibb brothers Barry and Robin announced they would no longer record under the Bee Gees name.
