ELIMINATED: Melissa Jo -- nicknamed Mojo -- got the boot on Monday's edition of FOX's "Joe Millionaire," as she was shown the door by hunky faux heir Evan Marriott, but not before she did a round of fencing with him. "His loss," said the loan officer, 25. The three remaining women, all duped into thinking Marriott has money, are Melissa M., Sarah and Zora, who joined him in his French chateau's hot tub -- along with three unexpected other women.

DEFENDED: The United States Marine Corps on Monday denied that it kept enlisted Marine Lance Cpl. Joshua Gracin from being sent to the Middle East so that he could sing on the hit FOX reality show "American Idol," reports Reuters. Gracin wowed the judges on last Wednesday's episode with a crisp salute and a strong performance and is now set to appear on this Wednesday's episode, during which the 32 semifinalists will be chosen. "The Marine Corps sees the recruiting value of Gracin's appearance before a national audience, appreciates the level of talent the Marine possesses, and recognizes the benefits of allowing him to continue competing on the program," Camp Pendleton said in a statement.

BUSTED: "Gremlins" star Zach Galligan, 38, was arrested for investigation of shoplifting after he allegedly stole a disc by the classic rock group Deep Purple from the Tower Records store on West Hollywood's Sunset Boulevard, reports the Associated Press. Galligan, who lives in Los Angeles, was reportedly stopped Wednesday and handcuffed by security guards in the store's parking lot. His last movie was a 2002 horror flick called "Infected."
