Eminem's Clothes Ready to Hit the Racks

Eminem may have walked away from Sunday night's Grammys with only one win, for best rap album ("The Eminem Show"), but he can always walk down the runway.

The Detroit-born rap star-turned-movie star ("8 Mile"), 30, is launching a new clothing line at Macy's, the New York-based department store chain, reports Reuters.

He now joins the ranks of jack-of-all-trades celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez (though her clothing line is reportedly only doing so-so business) and P. Diddy, notes the news service. And don't forget the Jaclyn Smith collection at K-Mart.

Federated Department Stores Inc., parent of Macy's (as well as Bloomingdale's and other stores), announced that it will begin selling some of Eminem's Shady Ltd. clothing collection at select stores come April.

This summer will bring a full-scale launch of the fall line.

"Logic dictates this will be a very big business," said Michael Belluomo, a spokesman for Nesi Fashion Brands, which owns the Shady Ltd. Line and its collection of hooded sweatshirts, velour jogging suits and baggy jeans in the baby blues, blacks and creams favored by young, male urban hip-hoppers.

Prices are due to range from about $25 for T-shirts to $100 for outerwear, said Belluomo, who added: "Eminem has a very big part in designing this. He's a very particular guy when it comes to how fabrics feel and how they look."
