More for Moore, a Musical for Judd

Julianne Moore has two Oscar nominations -- but that's no time to stop working.

The star of "Far From Heaven" (for which she is a Best Actress nominee) and "The Hours" (Supporting Actress), has signed on to star in the supernatural thriller "The Forgotten" for "Return to Paradise" director Joseph Ruben, reports Variety.

In it, Moore, 42, will play a grieving mother whose dead 8-year-old son may have been a figment of her imagination. She is scheduled to shoot the movie after she completes the romantic comedy "Laws of Attraction" with Pierce Brosnan this summer.

In the other casting news, Ashley Judd is poised to star opposite Kevin Kline in "De-Lovely," a biopic -- featuring 30 songs -- of the sophisticated composer Cole Porter (1891-1964), by "Gangs of New York" screenwriter Jay Cocks and set to film this summer, Variety also reports.

Kline, 55, would play Porter, who wrote for Fred Astaire and others, and whose peerless songbook included "Anything Goes," "Night and Day" and "Begin the Beguine."

Judd, 34, whose fall schedule has her going to Broadway to star in "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," would play Linda Porter, Cole's socialite wife (in a well-known marriage of convenience).

In 1946, Cary Grant and Alexis Smith played Cole and Linda Porter in the heavily sanitized "Night and Day," which completely sidestepped the issue of his homosexuality and tread only lightly on the tragic horse-riding accident that eventually cost him his leg.
