Call it "surreality" TV: Former White House intern Monica Lewinsky, who helped television news get a little bit too real when her dalliances with former President Bill Clinton were made public, has been tapped to host the upcoming FOX reality series "Mr. Personality," reports Variety.
The show will feature a group of men of "average" attractiveness, as they try to woo a stunning young lady. The catch? The men will be hidden behind color-coded plastic masks.
The series debuts April 21.
"The combination of Monica Lewinsky with a concept like 'Mr. Personality' will result in a big tune-in," show creator Bruce Nash tells Variety. "It's already a unique concept, and she's certainly well-known."
"Since FOX is the network that has had the greatest success with this genre, I was very excited when they approached me to host the show," says Lewinsky.
Save a couple of select appearances, including the HBO documentary "Monica in Black and White," Lewinsky, 29, has tried to maintain a low profile and concentrate on the designer handbags she sells via the Web (www.therealmonica.com).
